Edvidence of Pangaea

Over a century ago Alfred Wegener proposed the theory of Pangaea, after showing some proof:
  • The first piece of evidence is that most countries and mainland's and islands can fit together like a jigsaw.
  • Another piece of evidence is that coal deposits can be found in Pennsylvania also have a similar makeup to those across Poland, Great Britain and Germany that are from the same time period. That indicates that North America and Europe must have once been a single landmass.
  • There is evidence that extinct plant seeds are on a multitude of countries and continents.
  • If you trace the lines of mountain chains like the Appalachians in the United States and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. You can see that they were originally I mountain range.
